Myrna Kinlaw, born in Lumberton, NC, and raised in Florida, and Phil White, of Lorain, OH, met in 1963 as students at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, and were married in 1965.  They spent the first five years of their marriage traveling through North and South America in music ministry, first with Word of Life of Schroon Lake, New York, and then with THE NEW CREATION, a Christian folk group.

Beginning the spring of 1971, both Phil and Myrna were members of the Discovery Singers on Day of Discovery, the television program of the Radio Bible Class of Grand Rapids, MI.  Day of Discovery was filmed at Cypress Gardens, Florida.  Myrna was a soloist on the program until 1985.  Click on the picture to the left to view an album of pictures from Day of Discovery.

The Whites were original and continuing members of the John Wilson Singers, a premier recording group in the Chicago area, recording demo material for more than 30 years for Hope Publishing Company of Carol Stream, Illinois.   Additionally, Myrna was the soprano of the King's Karollers for 25 years on Songs in the Night, the international radio broadcast of the Moody Church in Chicago.  She also appeared for several years on the program Faith 20, the television arm of the Back to God Hour.

One of Myrna's greatest pleasures musically was performing for years with
JUST FOUR, a group of four women who remain personal and professional friends.

(Joanna Hettinga, Cheryl Fornelli, and Marcia Twadell have all also been members of the King's Karollers.)

Myrna made the decision in 1995 to retire from performing.  Since that time, she spends her valuable time with her husband, best friend and traveling partner, Phil; being mother to their three grown daughters, Aimee Lilly, Kimberly Corens, and Karma Piña; and being 'Grandma' to Antonio, Raquel, Lalo, Julia Jo, & Jason-Paul.  Phil is a consultant with IBM Global Business Services, and he and Myrna reside in the Chicago area.
